almotamar.net - Traffic Week is to kick off in the capital Sana'a on Saturday (5-10) May, Dr Abbas al-Mutawakil public health undersecretary for medicine sector and the head of the preparatory committee said the traffic week organised by the ministries of interior and the public health and population in coordination with World Health Organisation (WHO) aims at casting light on causes and serious consequences of traffic accidents especially among the segment of youth who constitutes 40% of victims of traffic incidents in Yemen. The week will also include many activities aimed to raise the level of traffic awareness of rules of traffic and safety on roads.
He said the traffic week will be inaugurated with youth and student parade as well as mass organisations. It is also to include holding an exhibition embodying the volume of suffering and losses resulting from traffic accidents and ways of preventing them in addition to mobile cinema, TV symposiums and many other activities related to the occasion.
In a related context the director of Aden governorate security told almotamar.net about intensive guidance measures as well as intensified measures to limit traffic disasters.
