almotamar.net - The Yemen government and the private sector have agreed on setting up a joint committee pursuant to decision of the cabinet on establishment of Food council as a joint frame between the two sides. The council undertakes coordination to tackle all problems facing the local market every now and then, leading to drawing up permanent mechanism to guarantee balance required in managing the trade and marketing process of basic goods and then stability of their prices.
The decision came following a meeting held Saturday in Sana'a chaired by the Prime Minister Dr Ali Mohammed Manawa and included the two deputy premiers, a number of ministers, representatives of the general federation of chambers of commerce and industry, the council of businessmen in addition to major importers of necessary food stuffs.
The meeting discussed the joint directives of the government and the private sector on strengthening the partnership mechanism towards the issues connected to supplies situation and stability of prices of basic goods through providing enough quantities of the strategic store of food stuffs.
Meanwhile, it is decided that the joint committee should [resent a report on results of its meetings to the prime minister including treatments to be agreed on within a week of today.
