Almotamar Net - Aggreko plc, the global leader in providing temporary power generation and temperature control services, has consolidated its strong presence in Yemen with its third contract to supply power to Yemen Public Electricity Corporation (PEC). almotamar.net google alert - Aggreko plc, the global leader in providing temporary power generation and temperature control services, has consolidated its strong presence in Yemen with its third contract to supply power to Yemen Public Electricity Corporation (PEC).
Yemen has experienced considerable economic growth in recent years, with a corresponding increase in the demand for power. PEC contracted Aggreko to provide 100MW for six power stations in the cities of Amran, Aden, Taiz and Liaj, to add to the 105 MW the company already supplies to the country.

'The signing of this contract highlights the government of Yemen's commitment to on-going economical reforms and its commitment to reduce power outages,' said Dr Ali Mohamed Majawar, the Yemeni Prime Minister. 'The first two contracts have contributed to the reduction of power cuts, which continue to support infrastructure development'.

'PEC aims to provide power for the rural areas of Yemen and we view Aggreko as a partner in increasing rural access to electricity in line with PEC's program. Aggreko's timely implementation of earlier projects and their experience with grid support enabled them to win the third contract,' added Dr Mujawar.

Aggreko has developed 'turnkey' solutions which are custom designed and can be rapidly mobilised from its network of service centres located throughout the Middle East.
