Almotamar.net - Yemen's foreign minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi affirmed Tuesday Yemen's keenness on distinguished bilateral relations with France in the tenure of president-elect Nicolas Sarkozy.
Dr Qirbi said "After election of president Sarkozy we are confident the two sides will seek to enhance their relations for the service of the two countries interests," reminding that Yemen's relation with France during the tenure of former president Jacque Chirac was distinguished.
President Ali Abdullah Saleh had earlier congratulated Sarkozy on his election president of the republic of France, pointing out the distinguished relations between Yemen and France. In his congratulatory cable president Saleh said the Yemeni people will not never forget the good and honourable stands of France in supporting their pursuit of the course of unity, democracy and development whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the European Union.
