almotamar.net - The specialised appeals section confirmed Wednesday the primary verdict issued against the defendants Faiz Mubarak Basamidi, Ali Mohammed Ali Turkiand Mohammed Musa Saleh al-Douh of five years of imprisonment for trafficking drugs in Yemen, counting the period since the date of their arrest.

The court also confirmed in its sitting today chaired by Judge Saeed al-Quttaa the primary sentence of 25-year imprisonment against defendant Mohammed Ali Rashid al-Harazi, and confirmed the 5-year imprisonment against Khalid Abdulghafour al-Ali and Ali Abdullah Zaid al- Hada. The court acquitted defendants Jamil Abdulghafour al-Ali, Hassan Malana al-Haik and Yahya Hussein al-Asnaj and confiscated the seized evidence pertaining to the case.

The first instance court had earlier convicted the persons accused of drug trafficking by giving them imprisonment sentences between 5-25 years and confiscation of materials seized with them.
