almotamar.net - Authorities of the Somali province of Bontland released Tuesday 130 Yemeni fishermen they had seized with their nine fishing boats for several days.
Yemen's ambassador to Somalia Ahmed Hamid Omar said the authorities in the Somali province have justified the causes of retaining the Yemeni fishermen by expiry of validity of fishing permits supplied to them by the concerned authorities of the province.
The release of the Yemeni fishermen comes after less than one day on publishing the n news of their detention by almotamar.net quoting Yemeni citizens who affirmed there were some of their relatives working in fishery being retained with their boats by Somali authorities for more than 15 days.
The Yemeni ambassador asked all Yemeni fishermen to commit to the agreement signed by Yemen and Bontland province that regulates the process of fishing. He called on the other hand the Somali fishermen whose fishing licenses validity has expired to renew according to the rules agreed on between the ministry of fish wealth and the Somali province of Bontland.
