The decision to recall the ambassador to Yemen came one day after a popular demand for severing Yemen's relations with Libya and to close its embassy in Sana'a at the backdrop of accusations of Libya's involvement in supporting the terrorist elements led by terrorist Abdulmalik al-Houthi in some areas of Saada.

Inhabitants of Saada' sheikhs, notables, scientists, intellectuals, parties, and civil organisations, demanded the political leadership and the government for cutting the relations with Libya and closing its embassy in Sana'a because of what they said of Libya's support for and care for the criminal sabotage and terror gangs led by al-Houthi and his followers in some areas of Saada, north Yemen.

The people of Saada said in a statement, almotamar.net received a copy of it, "We reiterate our call to the political leadership and the government to dry springs of support for this gang that we have become aware that its capabilities are increasing and we se the terrorists led by al-Houthi spending large sums of money and praising the major supporter Miamar Gaddafi and Libya."

The affirmed that severing ties with Libya has become a demand of the sons of the governorate because it is a state that does not respect independence and sovereignty of Yemen and supports the killers of the homeland and the citizens in Saada. The population of Saada said in their statement that their areas sustained damage because of the acts of al-Houthi outlaw gang that damaged the public safety and committed criminal acts aimed at horrifying the people and destroy the homeland in this area.
