Almotamar Net - The General Peoples Congress (GPC)s General Committee (GC) has demanded all political parties, organisations and civil society organisations to seriously and with a high national responsibility for supporting the armed forces and the security that are confronting the dangerous conspiracy that is damaging the march of the national unity and social peace. It said the clear and frank standing against the terrorist acts in Saada a national duty that all in the homeland have to undertake and to align to face those terrorist elements that target the coup against the republican system and an attempt to return the wheel of history in Yemen backward, as those parties had faced the secessionist elements in the summer of 1994.  Almotamar.net - The General People's Congress (GPC)'s General Committee (GC) has demanded all political parties, organisations and civil society organisations to seriously and with a high national responsibility for supporting the armed forces and the security that are confronting the dangerous conspiracy that is damaging the march of the national unity and social peace. It said the clear and frank standing against the terrorist acts in Saada a national duty that all in the homeland have to undertake and to align to face those terrorist elements that target the coup against the republican system and an attempt to return the wheel of history in Yemen backward, as those parties had faced the secessionist elements in the summer of 1994.

The GC affirmed in its Thursday meeting presided by president Ali Abdullah Saleh, the leader of the GPC that it places the stand regarding what is going on in Saada at the top of the issues of political accord that makes the process of dialogue as a national framework, politically and intellectually and also a program for the interest of future construction in the field of political and economic development as swell as deepening and evolvement of the large democratic process.

The GC also has got acquainted with results of the successful visit of president Saleh to the United Sates of America and the talks he has conducted with American officials especially president George Bush in which he exalt with means of enhancing relations of cooperation and partnership between Yemen and the US and regional and international developments of common interest particularly the situations in Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Somalia, Darfur in addition to the Arab initiative for peace. It has expressed satisfaction over results of the visit and high appreciation for the efforts the president exerted for the achievement of higher national interest of Yemen and the defence of the nation's issues especially the Palestinian issue and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national soil and its capital al-Quds.

The GC on the other hand was cognizant with results of the visit to Yemen by Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and its consequences with regard to consolidation of the brethren relations, areas of cooperation between the two countries at various political, economic, investment, cultural and security levels in the manner realizing common interests of the Yemeni and Qatari peoples. The GC expressed its evaluation of those results as confirmed by the countries of keenness on pushing those relations and areas of cooperation towards more spacious horizons for serving the common interests of the two peoples and also expressed its appreciation of Qatar's stands supporting the Yemeni people and their development march and unity in various circumstances.

The General Committee was aware of developments of the situations in Saada and the ongoing operations against the terrorist elements that started the sedition in the governorate and hailed the great sacrifices offered by the armed forces and security and with them the citizen volunteers in confronting those outlaw terrorist elements. The committee affirmed that confrontation with those elements is the core of the historic national operation through which the Yemeni people face the enemies of the republic, the unity and the democratic and developmental project.

On the role some external sides, and those supporting them inside, are playing in raging the situations in Saada and spreading seeds of sedition in the Yemeni society for the purpose of settling special accounts with some regional and international parties, the Committee affirmed the danger of what those sides are doing against the Yemeni people. It considered that unacceptable interference in Yemen affairs and it must be encountered strongly in the way guaranteeing protection of the higher national interest and security and stability of the homeland.

The Committee also discussed many organisation issues and subjects on its agenda, among them related to results of meetings held by the permanent and local committees in the governorates. It praised the results of those meetings and the interaction shown by members of the GPC that embodied the positive political movement inside its ranks.

The committee affirmed the necessity of benefiting from discussions and visions that were submitted in the way strengthening the role of the GPC in serving the issues of the homeland.

The committee also took many decisions pertaining the topics on its agenda.
