Almotamar.net - Bodyguards of the Director General of Preaching at the Ministry of endowments and Guidance Hamoud al-Saeedi, a leading member of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform party (Islah) assaulted Saturday two journalists taking part in covering a training course for guides held in the governorate of Ibb. But telephone messages published by Women Journalist Without Chains, directed by Islahi activist Tawakul Karman accused sheikh Yahya al-Najar, undersecretary of Endowments of that assault at a time he is in the capital Sana'a and did not attend the training course in Ibb.

Journalist Anees Mansour Hamida, correspondent of Al-Ayyam newspaper said in a statement to almotamar.net that he was beaten on his back and head by bodyguards and followers of the leading member of Islah Hamoud al-Saeedi, when he shot pictures showing tricks practiced with regard of guides dues and the bad nutrition. He said those shots aroused resentment since the beginning of the training course.

In a message the journalist Anees dispatched to al-Ayyam newspaper, the Yemeni journalists syndicate, organisations, the ministry of human rights and newspapers and online websites he explained that al-Saeedi asked him about the side that allowed him photographing and then began beating him and took his mobile telephone and the camera of his colleague journalist from the same newspaper and threatened him of preventing his attending the course if he would not delete the photos.

The journalist expressed his astonishment over the behaviour of Women Journalist Without Chains when it dispatched a mobile telephone message alleging that the Endowments undersecretary was the one who assaulted him, wondering about the reason that this organisation interfered with fabrications of this type.
