Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh announced on Tuesday suspension of the military operations carried out by units of the Yemeni armed forces and security against the terrorist elements on the occasion of celebrations of the 17th National Day of the Yemeni Republic that falls today.

The president's announcement came in a short address the president delivered at the conclusion of the youth festivities and carnival held in the Yemeni governorate of Ibb on Tuesday in celebration of the Day of unifying Yemen, attended by senior officials of the state, members of parliament, ministers, members of the shoura council, military and security commands and members of diplomatic missions in Yemen.

President Saleh expressed his hope that the terrorists announce their penitence and surrender themselves and their weapons to the state ands to respond to the scholars of Yemen committee saying " We shall discuss later what is their demands if they have demands but as for the return of the Imamate that is impossible."

The president also announced the holding of carnival celebrations on the Nation Day of the Yemeni republic every five years provided that the next carnival celebration on the 20th Day in the governorate of Taiz, affirming continuation of allocation of services and development projects budgets every year and annual celebrations will be confined to inauguration of projects.

Meanwhile the president announce Ibb a tourist governorate, calling on investors to invest in it and promising of offering all facilities in cheap prices via the local council.
