Almotamar.net - Al-Jumhuri Hospital in Sana'a on Sunday opened a section for health care services and treatment for AIDS patients and a CTSCAN unit organised by the ministry of public health and population in Yemen with the capital secretariat.

Health undersecretary Dr Majid Al-Junaid affirmed the necessity of raising the diagnostic abilities of the Jumhuri Hospital for all patients especially those suffering from irremediable diseases like cancer and AIDS.

Al-Junaid also indicated the importance of opening the treatment unit for AIDS patients and that it offers its services of voluntary examination and free of charge treatment for AIDS patients, adding it is the first of its kind in Yemen.

He said an AIDS unit will also be opened in the governorate of Aden during this month in order to enhance role of the health and treatment care for those patients in Yemen.

On his part planning Undersecretary Hisham Sharaf pointed out the importance of developing medical services offered in public hospitals that are one of the priorities of the national plan for poverty alleviation.
