Almotamar.net - It is scheduled that security authorities in the governorate of Sana'a to begin implementation of a plan aimed at collecting and buying weapons in the markets. It is part of the government plan of closing down markets selling weapons in all governorates of Yemen.
Local sources informed almotamar.net implementing the plan came in a decision taken by the governorate local council in its meeting on Sunday. The meeting that was chaired by t governor Abdulwahid al-Rabiee approved imposition of strict punishments against anyone to possess new quantities of w weapons after buying the weapons there were in his possession.
Collecting weapons plan is part of a plan the Yemeni interior ministry is carrying out in the country to collect all medium and heavy pieces of arms in possession of citizens. The plan also aims to close down shops selling weapons. The ministry has implemented the plan in more than one governorate and thousands of weapon pieces have been collected the cost of which was estimated at tens of millions.
