Jamil Jadabi Almotamar.net - SANAA-Hundreds of Yemeni children in headed by members of children parliament of Yemen organised on Tuesday a demonstration started from Tahrir Square in Sana'a to stop in front of the government building. At the same time members of parliament, legal activists and journalists were organising their 5th sit-in waiting for the government response to their demands related to expanding the space of press freedoms.

The children demonstration raised banners the most outstanding of which were stressing that interests on loans chain their future and another one demanding an increase in allocations for child program in the state budget.

The children demanded reconsideration of the volume of revenues allocated for the program on child protection in the state budget. In a message, in the name of Yemen's children addressed to the prime minister, the children parliament asked the government to clarify the size of sums spent in the state budget and international assistance in childhood programme.
A spokesperson for children parliament said in a message read out in front of the government headquarters said "We are meant with this issue and we are the targeted by the programme and by engaging us and work together we can draft programmes and plans for the children that will achieve the best results in this respect." She demanded the government to involve children in planning and drawing up policies related to child programmes the government is doing. She said they have gone there on behalf the Yemeni children to submit their issue and that they are faithful they would find responsive attitude from the government.

The children concerns submitted in front of the government headquarters met woes of journalists and all chanted in demand for a bigger share for children in investment programmes and for the release of news messages service.

An MP from Islah bloc recited two poems in solidarity with children and the journalists, affirming in a short address that the budget of the government does not give childhood its due share and stressed the necessity that the government has to respond to demands of journalists and children.

For the journalists sit-in Tawakul Karman expressed her happiness that the site of gathering has become a square for freedom, welcoming what has been achieved demands by the journalists and asked for achieving the rest of demands and called on the children to stage a sit-in along with journalists next Tuesday.
