Almotamar.net - In his presentation of the project of Declaration of the Arab Charter for Democracy, the chairman of Culture Bridges Forum Dr Abdulkarim Al-Eryany considered Wednesday that the project provides integrated effective strategy to deal with the file of development of democracy in the Arab region.

The charter project the idea and drafting of which is crystallized by Dr Abdulkarim al-Eryany, political advisor to president of the republic and chairman of Cultures Bridges Forum is composed of seven chapters and includes 33 articles. All of them clarify the practice and rights, define the commitments, pledges and duties put on shoulders of the civil society organisations and citizens for the achievement an amount of democratic action the helps push the process of development in different areas, according to Dr Al-Eryany.

The preamble of the charter proceeds from confirming principles and rules of the Islam religion and the human and civilization values of the Arab region, upon which the Arab leaders committed themselves to continue comprehensive reform, as well as commitment to international principles and provisions pertaining to rights.

Al-Eryany said it was inevitable to hold that meeting to establish the Arab Movement for Democracy and declaration of the Charter as working guide for the civil society and movements active in the field of democracy and human rights.

Dr Al-Eryany confirmed that the political democratic reform will not be achieved unless it is adopted by effective social forces in the concerned countries provided that they should work with all available means for it and to have support from the international organisation and the countries interested I developing democracy in the Arab region in practice.
