Almotamar.net - Yemen is to host the 2nd Regional Conference of children against violence on 18-20 of this month with participation of more than 14 countries.

Secretary genital of the Higher Council for Maternity and Childhood Nafisa Hamoud al-Jaaifi told almotamar.net all preparations were completed for holding the conference organised by the Council in cooperation with the UNICEF and a number of civil society organisations. She pointed out that the conference comes as continuation f the 1st Arab regional conference that was held in Amman in February 2004.

The conference that is to be held under the motto "Together for protecting children in the Arab countries" is to be attended by more than 450 personalities from Yemen and a number of "Arab and foreign countries. It will discuss 70 working papers presented at the conference.

Al-Jaaifi mentions the conference aims at assessing the level of spread of different forms of violence directed to children and it physical, psychological and social; impact on children in addition to evaluation of awareness campaigns aimed at protecting children against violence.
