Addressing the opening of the 2nd Regional Conference for Children Protection agonist Violence in Sana'a today the premier said Yemen's hosting of the conference embodied the Yemeni government keenness to go ahead in protection and care of children against violence as they are considered the future of the nation.

The premier stressed the necessity of coordination among all Arab countries with regard to protection of children from violence and benefiting from other countries successful experiments in protection of childhood against violence and recommendations and decisions taken at meetings of concerned Arab ministers in the area of childhood. He also stressed the necessity of activating programmes and activities related to children protection including researches and studies interested in issues of violence and abuse against children.

The premier added that the Yemeni government has in the past years taken many legislations aimed at childhood care, among them the national strategy for poverty alleviation, affirming that the government made a number of amendments on laws pertaining to childhood mainly aimed at emphasizing necessary protection of childhood. He has also referred to the president of the republic support to Children parliament as an emphasis on the political leadership encouragement for the democratic experiment among juveniles as a civilized way.
