Al-Asimi said the ministerial council of the GCC secretariat has been instructed to contact the consultant for the project to be informed on the cost of the study of linking the GCC the railroad to Yemen. He said in a statement that they are in the process of reaching the final form of the entire project scheduled to sign the contract after agreement of the GCC member states on the contract with the consultant side.

In his statement to the Kuwaiti Al-0Watan newspaper Al-Asimi said the ministerial council reviewed in its meeting in Riyadh the visions of the consultancy committee concerning hindrances of trade exchange and the topic of easing procedures and transfer of goods among the member states along with confirmation on the necessity that all parties concerned with transport should take part in the meetings called by the general secretariat for discussing the difficulties facing air transport of the GCC states and drawing up suitable solutions for them.
