Almotamar.net - The districts of Khanfar and Zanjibar in the governorate of Aabyan were hit on Sunday evening by strong storm caused cutting electricity in the two districts.

Local sources in the district of Khanfar that the area of Batees of the district and known for its orchards and farms came under the strongest winds the area ever witnessed and that led to fall of trees and cut in electricity for 12 hours.

The Yemeni meteorology centre warned of a tropical storm on the eastern borders of Yemeni regional waters (Arabian Sea) that has been observed Monday evening.

The National Centre of Meteorology indicated to the formation of rainy clouds accompanied by thunder storms along with drop in the horizontal sight extent and the state of surface winds is mild south-western to active the speed of which is 30-45 knots and the highest sped reaches 60 knots while the sea is much turbulent and waves height is between 3-6 meters.
The centre expected that the storm is moving westwards.
