Almotamar.net - The leader of the Sons of Yemen Party (RAY) Abdulrahman Al-Jifri described Tuesday President Ali Abdullah Saleh's announcement of the project of governors election as a revolution, pointing out that announcement of the president last Ramadan and his speech at a meeting of the local councils of the governorates of Lahj, Abyan, Aden and Al-Dhalie on 3 December.

Al-Jifri said, "When I was broad and heard this statement I was amazed and did not believe what I heard because when the fuss was aroused against him about governors election I was in Sana'a and realized the big importance of what he submitted and his courage in leading his direction."

He also criticised the press and the parties handling of that announcement, mentioning that he waited for reactions on that statement but he was surprised that no one was interested, even the official press and the General People's Congress newspapers as well as the opposition newspapers, as if he did not say anything. "We were the only party that issued a press release welcoming this announcement and I personally contacted him (the president) and told him that what he launched was a revolution in its full sense." Al-Jifri said.

The leader of RAY party classified his party among what he said as positive opposition, refusing that its opposition to the authority based on opposition for the sake of opposition.

Al-Jifri expressed his regret by saying that in the concept of many that opposition is to oppose everything and to refuse everything, not to accept anything and criticise everything. They think it is t refuse any positive thing of the authority even if it was as clear as the sun.

The leader of RAY party renewed his confirmation on continuation of the dialogue between his party and the ruling General People's Congress party. He said their dialogue with the political leadership and the GPC is continuous, indicating that the dialogue has achieved good results and a big proportion of issues in the dialogue. He said they discussed economic, political, social and cultural issues in addition to the question of extremism. He said they have submitted al their project with regard to comprehensive reforms in Yemen and that they have completed 60-70% of the issues.
