Almotamar.net - Yemen's minister for human rights Dr Huda al�Ban said Sunday she has requested the American authorities to allow her visit Guantanamo Bay Detention to be acquainted with conditions of Yemeni detainees there and discuss the question of releasing them with the American authorities.

Al-Ban added she had begun consultations with the foreign ministry and other parties for finding an immediate solution to the issue that has taken too long to solve.

The minister also said in a statement published by 26september.net she will publish a number of articles in the American press to put pressure on the American government for the return of detainees to their country and families.

Yemen had on more than an occasion announced its refusal of detaining its citizens without trial, demanding the return of its detainees in Guantanamo and to stand trial before Yemeni courts if there is anything against them.
