During his presiding over the 11-member body meeting the president said," I am happy to chair the first meeting of the committee and congratulate all for trust of the parliament rendered to them and my personal confidence in this important national body to encounter and fight corruption. The committee has to meet and draw up a vision beforehand for the method of its function and mechanism of action and coordination with the central apparatus for audit and accountability."

He added "We place our confidence in all institutions of the state but corruption is a disease that can be present at any facility therefore we have to fight corruption with sense of responsibility and you have all powers for field visit and to receive reports from all state institutions whether executive or legislative power or a military or security establishment."

The president affirmed that all establishments of the state are subject to the National Higher Committee for fighting corruption but within clean scientific mechanism enabling the committee to monitor budgets, particularly the state budgets and their chapters and the ways of spending as well as watching the deceiving traps especially transferring from one field to another because they are approved in parliament in a scientific way. The president stressed the necessity of adopting accuracy rather than depending on misleading information.

The members of the committee on their part expressed their appreciation for the confidence rendered for them whether by the political leadership of the parliament or the Shoura Council.

Members of the Higher Committee for fighting corruption have before that taken the legal oath before the president of the republic.
