Almotamar.net - The Yemeni government said Sunday the amounts of money signed as agreements have not exceeded $447 million out of $5066 million, the gross of donors pledges in donors conference last November.
The signed sums represent 8.8% of the total pledges of the donors and 14.3$ of the gross allocations amounting to $3117/1 million.

The government mentioned in a report presented to the 1st Follow-up Consultative Meeting between the government and the donors community held late of last June mentioned it has presented the investment programme for 2007-2010 t the donors conference in the light of directions of plans of development strategy and poverty alleviation, including the gross cost of projects of the programme amounting to $16.8 billion and a funding gap amounting to $5.5% for propriety projects.

The report affirmed the government seriousness in reforms and commitment to implement reforms of the national agenda, considering it a necessary condition for the realization of the third 5-year plan goals.

The report recommended speeding up allocation of pledges for investment projects program, completion of its procedures and acceleration of signing by the some donor financing countries and establishments regarding agreements of financing with the sums agreed on their allocation in addition to supporting the establishment of implementation units of the new projects and enhancement of decisions of the present units to enable them carrying out their tasks.

The report also called the donor sides for establishing representation offices in Yemen to facilitate and speed up consultation on development and technical aspects of the projects that have been agreed and also to follow up their implementation or the support building follow-up units of implementing funded projects in the framework of the Yemeni ministry of planning and international cooperation.
