She said the Yemeni women prisoners try to learn and benefit from the educational and vocational courses organised by the ICRC inside prison for enabling them acquire skills that will form a source of income after they leave prison.

Head of the ICRC team in Yemen told almotamar.net that since 2001 the Red Cross has been opening training courses for Yemen female prisoners in areas of illiteracy eradication, computers skills, weaving and handicrafts and used to follow them up after their departure from prison to find out their desire for continuing education and developing their skills in addition to helping others.

She has expressed the ICRC keenness on involving trainees and volunteers in expanding their tasks through listening to their remarks.

Regarding the legal and humane condition of female prisoners she said they engage both sexes lawyers from civil organisations such as Yemen Women Union and the Social reform society to benefit from their experiences in supporting every prisoner and follow up her case later.
