Almotamar.net - A security official at the Yemeni Interior Ministry affirmed Thursday the plotters and implementers of the terrorist operation that targeted a convoy of Spanish tourists and a number of their Yemeni companions in Mareb were from al-Qaeda organisation.

Staff Brigadier General Mohammed al-Gharrra, director of Mareb security said in a press statement today the process of gather information was still going on and indicated that measures of investigation were conducted in accordance with integrated plan. He said experts at the criminal laboratory are now completing their task and conducting analysis of the type of explosives used in the car bomb and their destructive power.

The security official told 26 September newspaper for today that the results of investigations conducted so far revealed absolutely that a suicide bomber war driving a car bomb intercepted the cars of the convoy that it was carrying oxygen gas cylinders the type used in hospitals in addition to big guns projectiles caliber 22 and TNT explosives.

He said the suicide bomber's body parts found spread at the site of the event were being under examination as well as the DNA of those parts at one of the Spanish criminal factories in Spain as part of Yemeni-Spanish cooperation in investigating into the incident.

A bomb attack targeted on the 2nd of this month the area nearby the historical Balqis Temple of Mareb, east Yemen and caused the killing or wounding tens of persons including seven Spanish tourists.
