Hungarian oil and gas group MOL discovered natural gas in Yemen, the Saudi Press Agency said, citing unidentified Yemeni oil officials. MOL confirmed the finding to KBC Securities.

MOL, which has been searching for oil and gas in Yemen for five years, found �big and promising" quantities of natural gas at its Tabalah-1 well at block 48, near al-Shahr in Hadramout province, according to the report.

�[...] crude oil is not commercial quantity but size of the natural gas finding might reach the commercial quantity," P�ter Tordai of KBC cited MOL as saying.

The company, however, denied it was a major finding, which makes the news neutral, the analyst added.
