almotamar.net, newsyemen - The governor of Aden inaugurated Saturday the arrival of the first giant ship at the Aden port harbour carrying 66000 tons of wheat. The 229-meter long ship anchored on Friday at the new Aden harbour that was built by Aden Gulf Company, one of Hael Saeed Trade Group.

The new platform is 303 meters long and 28 meters wide and allows anchorage of two large ships for unloading at the same time and receives huge ships whose cargo capacity reaches 80 thousand tons.

In a statement included in a press release that almotamar.net received a copy of it issued by Hael Saeed Anam Trade Group al-Kuhlani considered the harbour as part of the big developments the port of Aden has witnessed in the last years to keep up with developments of Aden as an economic and trade capital.

The governor indicated that the big quantities of wheat arriving through the Hael Saeed Trade Group Companies are new evidence on keenness of the private sector for the providing of needs of citizens of foodstuffs.

The director general of Hael Saeed Group Ahmed Hael Saeed Anam said the Group realizes the importance of the stage and believes in its role and responsibility in development and investment field as part of the national partnership between the government and the private sector through the accelerating investment activity it has carried out through building its new projects in the past ten years.

The Hael Group said in a press release that the quantity will help national efforts cover the urgent need of wheat and support the food security in the country through partnership between private sector and the government.

It said that the Group has increased its imports of wheat as well as its productive capacity of wheat grain flour milling in grinders in both Aden and Hodeidah. It said that the Group contacted with some foreign companies to buy 327,000 tons of wheat, the rest of which is to arrive in Yemeni markets during October 2007.
