A statement issued by the organisation Monday, almotamar.net received a copy of it mentioned that while the organisation admiringly view the proposal it hopes to be enriched in a way there will be accordance on a higher proportion compatible with the woman presence in electors lists.

The statement mentioned that " WJWC organisation that while it announces its absolute support for the initiative of the president regarding the woman it demands the creation of legislations giving the woman that mandatory and just proportion as a candidate and elector. It sees that it is necessary the amendments to include additional texts guaranteeing the woman participation with the same proportion in the government and the leading bodies of he political parties"

The organisation has also viewed that the amendment should also guarantee .for the woman open and equal contest with the man on basis of equality in a way that the woman should not be granted closed constituencies in certain areas where the woman competes with the woman only. The organisation considered that such an amendment or legislation would not have achieved a real gain for the woman.

The organisation called on all political parties to speed up their agreement on that proportion and called on the ruling party to shoulder its historic responsibility with respect to realization of this accomplishment for the woman in case the accordance was delayed or the dialogue with the rest of political parties in Yemen has stumbled. It said at all events the responsibility of achieving this accomplishment is that of the ruling party that possesses the parliamentary majority and it has to go ahead with adopting the amendment, affirming it would be faced with welcome and support by the civil society and supporters of the rights movement in Yemen.
