almotamar.net - The candidate of the General People's Congress (GPC) on Monday won the post of Speaker of the Yemeni parliament with 186 votes out of 255 voices and the absents were 6.the candidate of the Joint Meeting Parties Ali Ashal has got only 69 voices.

Voting is presently conducted for the election of the parliament presidency body from among four candidates, three of whom are from the GPC, namely Mohammed al-Shaddadi, Himyar Abdullah al-Ahmar and Akram Attiya and the fourth candidate of the Joint Meeting Parties from the Islah, namely Zaid al-Shami.
