almotamar.net - The Yemeni-Spanish Friendship society in cooperation with the two countries embassies in Sana'a and Madrid is preparing for holding official and popular ceremony in the Yemeni city of Marib at the first anniversary of the terrorist act that targeted Spaniard tourists and Yemeni citizens in Marib in July last year.
Chairman of the Yemeni-Spanish Friendship society Abdullah Nasser al-Kharraz announced Thursday the plan for erecting a monument for the Spaniard victims at the site of the incident.
In a statement to 26 September newspaper al-Kharraz said the families of the victims and a number of Spanish social, political and media personalities will be invited to attend the event and participate in cultural and artistic activities to be held in the governorate of Marib.
Meanwhile al-Kharraz said the society will in coordination with the Spanish ambassador to Yemen is planning to open a Yemeni-Spanish Cultural Centre in Sana'a for the development of cultural relations with Spain and that would enhance the existing communication between the two countries.
