Almotamar.net - Yemeni-Turkish summit held in Ankara Monday between Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Turkey's President Abdullah Gul where the two leaders discussed ways of enhancing and developing the brotherly relations and areas of cooperation at different economic, political, cultural, military and security levels.

The summit also dealt with the current developments in the region particularly in Iraq, Palestine, the Iranian nuclear file and the efforts for combating terror as well as the role played by the Conference of Islamic Organisation in serving the issues of the Islamic nation.

The two leaders have affirmed their keenness on strengthening and developing the relations and partnership existing between the two countries and expressed heir satisfaction over the development of the relations between Yemen and Turkey at various levels.

President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived Ankara on Monday afternoon and was received at Ankara Airport by the Turkish Prime Minister, the state minister for economic affairs, speaker of the Turkish parliament, secretary general of the Turkish presidency, the mayor of Ankara, the Turkish ambassador to Sana'a, senior Turkish officials, Yemen's Ambassador to Turkey, Arab ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Ankara, and a number of Yemeni students studying in Turkish Universities and military and civilian academies.

President Saleh visited the mausoleum of the Turkish leader Mustafa Kamal Ataturk where he laid a wreath and registered a word in the guest book in which he expressed his happiness for visiting Turkey and praised the role of Ataturk in the establishment of modern Turkey and building its renascence. President Saleh also expressed his looking forward that this visit would contribute to enhancing the brotherly relations in the way serving the interest of the Yemeni and Turkish peoples.
