almotamer.net - The coming presidential election on 20 September will be the best elections in the Arab world as there are equal opportunities for all political forces that are interested in having peaceful transfer of power, said Abdu Al-Janadi, information officer at the Supreme Committee for Election and Referendum (SCER).
In a press conference held Monday, Al-Janadi stated that international organizations concerned with elections expect the success of the coming presidential and local elections. Yemen will witness the best elections in the democracy process of the country, they said.
Al-Janadi added that several international organizations will participate in observing the elections.

Additionally, Al-Janadi affirmed the SCER would be neutral and stick to law and Agreement of Principles signed by the SCER members. Two members of the Joint Meeting Parties have started their work in the Security Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee, Al-Janadi noted, while the SCER's vice-chairman has been assigned to supervise the legal Team to revise and check the electoral roll.

"We affirm that over the past years, the SCER has checked the electoral roll, where 64,000 repeated names and 180,000 children were disclosed ,and referred such cases to judiciary," Al-Janadi explained in the press conference.

According to him, the SCER could come over opposition parties' doubts, urging the press to help defend democratic experience in the country.

The SCER held a meeting with the Minister of Information, during which they discussed the instructions of election campaigns.
