Almotamar.net - Like all other Jews in the world Yemeni Jews are celebrating for the fourth day running their Easter that extends till Thursday. The Jews in Easter stop practicing any work however small and they do not even respond to phone calls.

One of the senior Rabbis of Yemeni Jews in the area of Kharif Sulaiman Yaqoub said this religious occasion usually comes in a calm manner and is not accompanied by festivities similar to the countries where there are Jews. He said the Easter is considered revival and joy of the day when God rescued Moses and the Israeli believers from the Pharaoh and his soldiers.

Yaqoub pointed out the great difference between the celebrations of Easter in Yemen and those in the US and Israel. He says there are many of celebration phenomena in those countries which they saw as strange for them. He said," We are conservative tribes and do not allow mixed celebration as some celebrate their religious occasions.
