Almotamar.net - President of Hadramout University for Sciences and Technology Dr Ahmed Omar Bamashmus on Wednesday said the Yemeni masses, and since President Ali Abdullah Saleh's announcement on election of governors of provinces, are experiencing a democratic festival that embodies Yemen's precedence by this step expressing confidence of the President of the Republic in his people in choosing their governors. He considers that by boycotting the elections the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) are isolating themselves from the Yemeni street.
De Bamashmus added in a statement to almotamar.net that election of governors is a step on the right path. Any Yemeni feels happy about this decision which fives the chance for contributing to the development and advance of the country. It is a matter of pride as this step embodies a real authority of the elected governors, considering it as a forward leap Yemen is achieving in logical and simplified criteria for nomination to the post of a governor. He said there are thousands of Yemenis entertain those conditions.
Hadramout University president said the JMP boycotting is unsuccessful stand. He said he expects that the JMP parties would back down from isolating themselves from interests of the Yemeni street in this democratic festival that gives the people the power of the choice very carefully to the proper person who will serve their governorate.
