Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Wednesday sent a telegram of congratulations to Advisor to the President of the Republic, the Secretary General of the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdulqader Bajammal on his winning of the United Nations Award of the Champions of the Earth for environment for 2008.

The President said in his telegram," On the occasion of your winning the prize of the Champions of the Earth for 2008 granted to you by
By the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) we express to you and through you to all the sons of our Yemeni people of congratulations for this high international honouring which is an honouring and appreciation for Yemen for all the efforts that are exerted in the area of environment."

In his telegram the President said the Yemeni Republic has always been rendering the issue of environment all the attention as it is a vital issue for all. He added that Yemen will continue its efforts and in cooperation with the international community fro creation of convenient climates for the protection of environment especially supporting of the efforts for stabilization of stability and peace in the region and the world.
