Almotamar.net - The Yemeni East Capital court has on Wednesday acquitted the French national Eva Albert accused of smuggling antiquities and decided to return the seized things but the Antiquities Authority and General Prosecution appealed the judgment.

Prosecution of Antiquities Protection at the capital had decided the beginning of last May the imprisonment of the French defendant , 58 , accused of smuggling antiques for seven days over investigation in preparation for sending him to court.

The prosecution charged the French defendant with accusation of trying to smuggle antique pieces including eight original pieces, 15 Masnad different pieces of currency in addition to stone statues, a seal and an imitated statue of a human head.

Security authorities at Sana'a International Airport had caught the French man working for an oil company operating in Yemen and in his possession a group of bronze statues and historical pieces of currency.
