Almotamar.net - More than 50 Yemeni journalists staged on Wednesday a sit-in in front of the headquarters of the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS) while hundreds of journalists in various Yemeni governorates are expressing their protest to what they described as double standard in the process of granting membership of the YJS to journalists.

Almotamar.net learned that the deputy chairman of the YJS met the protesting journalists and told them that the Syndicate's Council would convene next Saturday to consider the issue.

Meanwhile, a number of journalists in a number of governorates mentioned that they will organise protest activities beginning from next Saturday in condemnation of the unprofessional behaviour of the YJS in its dealing with its members and its message in general and in protest to depriving them of the YJS membership.

The protest activities against the YJS come in coincidence with the YJS announcement of opening nomination for the post of chairman of the YJS and membership of the syndicate in its third electoral session decided on 26 of next July.
