Almotamar.net - Director of the Countryside Development with Participation Project in Thamar governorate Ms Fathiya Bahran, described results of and recommendations of the parliament report o the field visit by members of parliament to the project and was discussed this week, as very objective as it resulted from a visit and deep study of the project and its problems.

She has told almotamar.net Thursday that the positive evaluation of the project's positive aspects has given a strong push to in the projects towards more giving and works for achieving goals of the project. Ms Bahran added that the report and remarks on improving performance in some aspects constitute a guide to the project for more improvement in its performance.

She considered the recommendations of the parliament concerning the filling of financial gap of the project as very important for the project was not able to interfere in almost 43 village units out of 176 units distributed over around 11 districts of Thamar governorate. The project at present works with just 133 village units including about 39900 countryside families out of 52800 it was expected to be targeted before withdrawal of financers from the World Food Programme and the Dutch government. This makes the financial gap at 29% since the beginning o the project whose cost is amounting about $21 million.

Director of the project hopes that recommendations of the parliament would allow it enter the rest 43 villages the project was not able to do where their population is estimated at 12900 rural families.
