Almotamar.net - Yemen's Foreign Minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has on Tuesday attributed responsibility for the proliferation of chemical weapons to the countries that have manufactured them. In an opening ceremony today on Implementation of the Agreement on Banning Chemical Weapons through Customs, organised by the national Committee for Banning Chemical, Biological and Poisonous Weapons in cooperation with Chemical Weapons Banning Organisation, the Minister announced Yemen willingness of cooperation with the organisation.
He emphasized the importance of monitoring by customs to prevent entry of any poisonous and chemical substances so that they would not be used by terrorists to threaten general security. The Minister, in this regard, called on the government to provide full care and incentives for employees of customs in return for their distinguished acts, indicating that Yemen's commitment to agreements it has signed comes as an embodiment of political orientations and confirmation of peaceful coexistence among peoples and abandonment of violence. He has also called for the necessity of increasing levels of cooperation between Yemen and the organisation for prohibiting chemical weapons to increase the awareness about danger of the weapons and their transfer to a number of countries , among them Yemen. He pointed out that organizing this training course for workers of customs is very important and requires regional and international cooperation to keep security and stability.
