Minister Alban also discussed with the US State Department Undersecretary for World Affairs and Democracy areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways of democratic development and rights of the Yemeni woman in particular.

At a Yemeni-American talks meeting during the Minister's visit to Washington the American official expressed her hope that the visit would contribute to push relations of Yemeni American partnership steps forward in areas of freedoms , democracy, and the rights of equality between the man and the woman .

On her part the Yemeni Minister pointed out that the political leadership in Yemen encourages establishment and spread of democratic values as Yemen was and is being the pioneer in the democratic practices. She has also talked about role of the president of the republic in encouraging the woman through his endeavour for raising the proportion of the woman representation in the upcoming parliamentary elections to 15%.
