Almotamar.net - The number of suspended electoral centers reached 79 nationwide, a source in the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) said.
In a statement to the motamar.net, the source said, "such centers have been suspended due to differences among local authority members as local councils had tribal problems in the districts."
The source denied that such centers have suspended due to a failure or deficiency in their performance, or any lack in the accessories of receiving candidates requests
Al-Jawf governorate is the first- in order of priority -that includes 50 centers suspended so far in three constituencies, the source added.
The same source made it clear that during the past two days, 3,194 candidates have submitted their requests in the districts of Al-Jawf governorate, of whom 2006 belong to the General People's Congress (GPC), 577 Islah Party, 504 independent, 100 Yemeni Socialist Party, 9 Nasserite Union Organization, and 7 belong to the National Arabic Ba'ath . 353 candidates have submitted their requests to compete in the governorate seats.
At the national level, the number of women candidates in the districts has reached 21 so far in six governorates. In the Capital Secretariat there are 3 women candidates that belong to the GPC. Aden governorate includes 10 candidates, of whom 8 belong to the GPC, 1 independent and the other one belongs to the Yemeni Socialist Party(YSP).
Taiz governorate includes 2 women candidates from the GPC, and one independent. In Lahj governorate, there are only two women candidates, of whom one belongs to the GPC and the other one is independent. In Abyan there is one women candidate from the GPC and one from the YSP. Shabwa governorate includes only one independent woman candidate.
The Islah Party has not presented any women candidates for local elections throughout the country.
