Almotamar.net - Head of the Information Office of the General people's Congress (GPC), the ruling party in Yemen Tareq al-Shamy said Friday the anniversary of 17 July cannot be considered as a divisional one as the President Ali Abdullah Saleh has come as a leader of the entire homeland and has shouldered woes of the Yemeni people in all regions of Yemen, whether in the north or the south.
Al-Shamy added that since President Saleh's assumption of power he has been keen on the communicating with all political and social trends in the north and in the south. He clarified that the Yemeni unity was one of the goals the president worked for its achievement since the first days of his assumption of power.
In a statement quoted by News Yemen, al-Shamy affirmed that 17 July was a stage of transition from divisio9nism of Yemen to the Yemeni unity and all the stages President Saleh acted at, from the establishment of peace in the central regions, signing the Kuwait agreement and the positive dealing during the events of 1986, leading to 30 November when all those stages were signed, came within the keenness on the Yemeni unity and the united Yemen.
