In a statement to Yemeni news agency correspondent in Tunis he said the visit aimed at getting acquainted with the organisational, political, economic, social and cultural experiment of the CDRP.
Al-Barakani clarified that the address of Tunisian President Zeine el Abidine Ben Ali to the 5th conference of the CDRP included ambitions and future plans for Tunisia pertaining to economic , higher and vocational education, and all other areas , saying they can be benefited from by the GPC. He pointed out that the relations between the GPC and the CDRP are old and distinguished.

Al-Barakani said the protocol to be signed by the two parties has been amended so that to include political, economic and educational aspects. He said there will be exchange of scholarships between the two parties as well as cooperation in economic, social and cultural fields. He said the protocol will be signed at the end of the CDRP conference that is held on 30 July- 2 August.

Sheikh al-Barakani and his accompanying delegation arrived in Tunis on Tuesday evening and were received by the Yemeni ambassador to Tunisia and the Yemeni Charge d'Affaires and a senior representative for the Tunisian CDRP.
