The number of election centers that witness differences has reached 130 nationwide, the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) said.
Abdu Al-Janadi, head of the SCER information sector, told the motamar.net that the latest statistics showed there are 130 election centers that witness differences on leadership and other political parities and tribal problems. The SCER will gather complaints after which a meeting will be held to look into the complaints and differences in an effort to help election committees perform their duties easily, Al-Janadi added.
Al-Janadi made it clear the number of candidates for local elections in districts has reached 6,209, and 488 local election candidates in the governorates.
According to the statistics, there are 3,318 candidates in the districts belonging to the General People�s Congress; 1,270 candidates to the Islah Party; 1,340 independent candidates; 252 Yemeni Socialist Party; and 27 Nasserite Unionist Organization.
At the level of local elections in the governorates, there are 204 candidates from the General People�s Congress; 67 Islah Party; 187 independent candidates; and 22 Yemeni Socialist Party.
