Dr al-Eryany affirmed in the meeting that democracy in Yemen is growing and achieving continual progress especially that the parliamentary elections would be held in April next year and happens while the region is experiencing a critical time. He added that Yemen is preparing for the fourth competitive elections among the political parties and organisations to choose members of the parliament.

Participants in the meeting also talked about securing justice and equality for all through their discussion of challenges of building democracy and initiatives for political reform the dialogue also dealt with visions of the participants on problems and blocks of democracy and stressed the most important role raised by the democratic ideals and values as democracy cannot be firm without the respect of the principles of equality, justice and independence of the judiciary.

Dr al-Eryany is leading Yemen's delegation taking part in sessions of the general conference of US Democratic Party in response to an invitation Yemen has received from the US Democratic presidential candidate Barak Obama. Dr al-Eryany affirmed that keenness of the US Democratic Party on Yemen participation in its general conference represents a gesture of good will in drawing up the map of cooperation between the GPC and the US Democratic Party.
