Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh sent Sunday a cable of condolences to Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak over victims of a rock slide took place in el-Doweiqa slum area in eastern Cairo.

President Saleh expressed his deep sorrow over the catastrophic collapse of rocks on the housing area in Cairo, which claimed the lives of 15 people and more than 22 injured.

"On behalf of Yemen's government and people, we express deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the brotherly Egyptian people over this catastrophic accident", said Saleh.

A 30-metre-high rock crashed down onto more than 30 flimsy homes in el-Doweiqa slum area. Nearly 500 people were still buried under the rubble of houses.

The rock fall happened as people were asleep near dawn on Saturday.

On the other hand President Saleh sent Sunday a cable of congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of his election as Pakistan's president.

In his cable, President Saleh confirmed Yemen's keenness on boosting and developing cooperation relations between the two countries.

President Saleh also expressed his regards to Zardari wishing him and Pakistani people the best of health and further progress.
