Almotamar.net - A source of the General People's Congress (GPC) expressed the regret over the decision taken by the Supreme Commission for elections and Referendum (SCER) regarding the formation of committees for the stage of revising and correcting the elector tables, which comes in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Yemen scheduled in April 2009.

The SCER has taken a decision of forming the said committee from employees in education field with the exclusion of even the GPC from its membership despite that the GPC has already responded to request of the SCER in presenting names of its candidates to membership of the committee, unlike other parties.

The source added that the SCER should have not deal with the parties that respect the constitution and the law and the constitutional establishments in the same way with the parties violating the constitution and the law which do not care for bearing their national responsibilities.

In a statement to almotamar.net the source expressed sticking of the GPC to its right, demanding the Commission to reconsider its decision, saying, " The JMP is not the elections and has never been the representative of the Yemeni people but rather it is part of the political process. " the source insisted on the right of the GPC so that that the committed and respectful of regulations and laws to be dealt with at the same footing with those who do not.
