Almotamar Net - Saleh Almotamar.net - SANA'A - HE President Ali Abdullah Saleh received today, Baroness Emma Nicholson Chief Observer of European Union Mission with accompanying delegation to observe the elections.
During the meeting issues related to the coming presidential and local elections will be held in Yemen on next 20 September were discussed as well as participation of women and issues relating to Yemen efforts against corruption.
Baroness Michelson reaffirmed EU care and support to run the presidential and local elections in Yemen in the context of enhancing the leading democratic experiment considered as a remarkable in the region.
Meanwhile, she pointed out Yemeni women's participation in the elections as candidates and voters in the frame of expanding participation of Yemeni women in the various areas of political, social and cultural rights.
On the other hand, HE President Saleh reaffirmed on conduction of presidential and local elections in secure and stable climates to ensure running fair and free elections. He welcomed participation of EU Mission to observe the elections along with delegations of international organizations, civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations.
HE emphasized on Yemen care of woman to allow her to participate effectively in political and public life, pointing out the many opportunities available to her both in the area of democratic practice or in senior government positions assigned to her to contribute in building of Yemen.
President Saleh has pointed out efforts exerted by Yemen in the field of combating corruption in the frame of implementing national agenda to combat corruption and promote transparency.

HE also pointed out that Yemen will benefit from friendly nations experience in the European Union in this area.
