Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Tuesday that all have to contest in honest competition in the parliamentary elections by their platforms to win the confidence of the elector and he who will win is one of the sons of the homeland regardless of the party that he is affiliated to.

President Saleh pointed out, during his return to Sana'a following a visit to a number of governorates included provinces of Hajjah, Hudeida, Taiz, Aden, Lahj and Dhalie during which he inspected conditions of the people there and their needs and aspirations, what the country is waiting for a democratic right via the parliamentary elections.

He has also pointed out that the Member of Parliament is representative of the sons of his constituency and of all the sons of the homeland and his responsibility becomes a national one. The partisan is but a means rather than an end in its own.

The President has on Tuesday visited the governorate of al-Dhalie where he was received by the governor of the province and senior officials in the province in addition to social figures of the province.

The president held a meeting with them and got acquainted with the progress of work in the governorate and the level of accomplishment of the projects under construction in the governorate.

Members of the local council and the executive bureau talked with the president and he exchanged with them congratulations on Ramadan and the Days of the 26 September and 14 October Revolution expressing his happiness for visiting the governorate and asking about the citizens conditions, pointing out that Al-Dhalie has witnessed changes since its declaration as a governorate.

President Saleh said as much as there is security and calmness as well as stability that would help pushes the rate of development and accomplishment of more services and development projects that would raise standard of the citizens' life. He said the people of Al-Dhalie have been always at the forefront of strugglers for the revolution and the unity.

The President also praised the experiment of electing governors of provinces and the positive results it has produced pointing out that it was a step enhances the plan to transfer to the system of the local rule of large powers.
