Almotamar.net - Head of the Information Office at the General People's Congress (GPC) Tareq al-Shamy on Monday described the talk of the secretary general of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah) Party Abdulwahab al-Anisi in his latest interview as repetition to his previous statements. Al-Shamy said al-Anisi always expressed his narrow totalitarian culture that is completely different than the democratic culture, that culture of freedom and openness in dealing with others, which the GPC pursues.

Al-Shamy said that the mentality of conspiracy and coups is still dominating Abdulwahab al-Anisi in his dealing and he is still following outdated means and mechanisms through his attempt of escalating and raising the ceiling of demands in order to reach goals, reminding al-Anisi that he was the first who protested to the GPC insisting that the dialogue should be within the frame of the constitution and the law and that he had refused that and considered it as obstinacy by the GPC and demanded of not to draw the constitution and the law to the face of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP).

He said al-Anisi was at the forefront of those that worked for hindering the tackling of sequels of the war of 1994 summer and further than that he and his colleagues helped create the crisis their acts after the coalition after the war of '94 by excluding others and dealing with the public service out of a narrow partisan perspective.

Al-Shamy has further said that al-Anisi and some leaderships of the JMP tried to render the situation of Yemen similar to the case of Lebanon in an attempt of impediment and deformation of the political life, clarifying that the Lebanese leaderships are more patriotic as they work to prioritize the interest of the homeland to their narrow interests.

Al-Shamy concluded his statement by reminding al-Anisi that the people have made their mind regarding the programme of the JMP in the presidential elections of 2006 and that the GPC was the one that took the initiative for the call to dialogue on the political and economic as well as judicial reforms and that is related to enhancement of rights and freedoms.
