Almotamar.net - The Republic of Yemen on Saturday welcomed decision taken by the US Court of Appeals in New York City of acquitting Sheikh Mohammed Ali al-Mouayad and his companion Mohammed ZaId from charges of supporting terror and the release them,

Foreign Minister of Yemen Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi said the verdict confirms what Yemen has adopted since the beginning and mentioned about measures of arresting the as were not done according to international measures and legislations. The Minister affirmed that the first trial in New York proceeded from political dimensions more than legal ones for the achievement of justice.

In his statement to the Yemeni news agency he said the judgment confirms the Yemeni viewpoint that deemed procedures of their trial as were illegal. The Minister expressed his looking forward to speeding up the release of al-Mouayad and his companion Zaid and said Yemen would maintain its efforts for their release as soon as possible.

The US Court of Appeals in New York has yesterday issued its decision of acquitting sheikh al-Mouayad and Zaid and dropped punishments issued by against them by the court of first instance and gave its orders for their release if the American government did not demand to re-try them within 11 days.
